There’s a thin line between trendy and tacky. When I was in my early 20’s, I wore anything that was trendy and when I look back at those photos — I literally shake my head. I was raised around women who teased their hair, wore bright lips and print from head to toe — hard for it not to rub off. At my core, I am an island girl and it feels natural to play the part. When I’m back on my island (or any Latin country for that matter) its no holds barred (peep the rainbow manicure from my last trip to Costa Rica) but here in the US, “Cojelo, con take it easy.” I’m not holding back my self expression but a girl also loves to look chic. No fabric texture, no patterns, nada girlfriend — your top is the basic girl at this party and that’s ok. Here are some basic top I would rock with printed pants.

No frills or big chunky dad sneakers, stick to a shoe that never goes out of style like a simple strap sandal or a classic white sneaker.
