New Year, New Style: How to Overhaul Your Wardrobe

What better time to review our wardrobes than January? After all, it’s cold outside – so a good excuse to stay indoors. If you make an effort to overhaul your wardrobe in the coming weeks, you’ll be ready to rock n roll when Spring rolls around. The question is, how should you go about this process? Fear not! Below, I run through everything you need to know.

Assess the Wardrobe

We tend to get into the habit of always wearing the same clothes all the time. This isn’t a crime (we’re creatures of habit after all), especially if our staple outfits make us look at our best! However, what about all the other pieces in your wardrobe, the ones that haven’t felt the love in a while? You might have some great clothes hiding away, just waiting to see the light of day again. Or you might have a lot that really should be donated to a charity shop. In any case, after your assessment you’ll have a clearer understanding  of where to head next.

Bring Old Pieces to Life

Before you toss out all your old clothes, have a think about bringing the unused items back to life. There are a whole bunch of clothing hacks that can make an old piece look, not exactly new, but at least vintage and trendy! Pick up a sewing kit and get to work. After all, what’s the worst that could happen? If you were going to throw it away anyway, it’s a risk worth taking.

Hit the Shops

OK, now comes the fun part: Buying some new clothes! Check out the latest women’s fashion, and load up your wardrobe with all of the latest styles. If it’s been a while since you hit the stores, have a plan of attack – a style you’d like to imitate – and then go for it. In no time at all, you’ll have a wardrobe full of clothes that you love to where.

Push it to the Limit

When it comes to a wardrobe overhaul, it’s always a good idea to push the upper limits of your bravery. Many people play it safe when it comes to their clothing because they don’t want to risk looking silly or not fitting in, forget all that noise! While you’ll want to have clothes that you feel comfortable wearing, there’s nothing wrong with picking up one or two items that you might otherwise have overlooked if you weren’t feeling so brave.

Take action now, and you’re going to be set to look your best for the duration of the year!
