How to Add Edge to a Turtleneck & Jeans Outfit

It is officially turtleneck weather. I was going to put an exclamation point at the end of that sentence but that would be lying to you. I am not excited about the cold weather. Nonetheless, I am here to help and give you easy peasy style tips. A turtleneck and a pair of jeans is a pretty basic look but I’m going to show you two simple ways to add an edge to the classic winter outfit.

1

Your outer layer is key

The easiest way to make your turtleneck & jeans outfit less basic is to add an exciting outer layer. The shacket (shirt & jacket combo) is a big trend and a great layering piece. If you want to try the trend pair a shacket with your turtleneck OR try a fun blazer or a kimono. Shop shackets at ASOS, Freepeople, and H&M

A Statement boot is your cherry on top

The boots I’m rocking are white, patent leather, square toe boot with a black elastic — I’d say these make a statement. You don’t have to do white, a super chunky black boot, fun colored boot, boots with funky heels are great alternatives. Your boots will be the cherry on top to bring your outfit from basic to not.
