I’ve been to California before but never to LA. I wanted to go on a Baby Moon (Honey Moon for expecting parents before baby is born). After speaking to my doctor who advised me against leaving the country because of the Zika outbreak I had to plan something within America.
I wanted sun, beach, shopping and good food so Cali seemed like the perfect fit. Sure enough, it did not disappoint. I had an amazing time, ate wonderful food with amazing views and most importantly major relaxation!
Here were some of my stops.
Malibu Farm Pier Café- this place was nothing short of amazing. The restaurant offers local sourced food with breath taking views of the Pacific.
El Matador State Beach- We stopped here after brunch and this was one of the prettiest beaches in Malibu. A great background for pictures with sea caves and large rocks along the sand and beach. It’s a steep dirt trail including some stairs which makes this a bit of a hike but the views from the upper cliffs are incredible.
We were actually stopped by a team of young photographers who offered to take pictures of us along the beach.
Santa Monica Pier- This stop was a must as it’s a famous attraction to anyone in the LA area. To me this was like stopping in Time Square, tons of people, shops, sights to see but beyond that I like a more local scene.
Manhattan Beach- This one was a favorite. It’s a small beach city between El Segundo & Hermosa Beach. Tons of a great restaurants and boutiques we actually stopped here two days in a row. It has more of a local vibe so wasn’t crowded and the pace was just perfect.
I never capture every second of my travel experiences since I like to put the phone down and enjoy my trip. If you are in the LA area here are other places I visited worth checking out:
Hermosa Beach- small beach town more down to earth beach vibe with cool vintage shops.
Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice- Great local spots to eat, the shops are on the high end as far as prices go but worth a visit.
Hollywood Sign- You can’t come to LA and not get a glimpse of the famous Hollywood Sign on the mountain side overlooking Hollywood
The Grove in Hollywood- Really pretty outdoor mall with open grass to lay out in the middle of the shopping center
Santa Monica Third Street Promenade- More outdoor shopping, a long strip of the big brand stores and places to eat
